As a member of the SCM Product Acquisition team you will be part of a team responsible for developing, testing, enhancing, and supporting a suite of world class supply chain management solutions.  This role will focus on the JDA suite of products, including JDA Demand, Fulfillment, Inventory Optimization, Demand Class, Dynamic Deploy, and Order Optimization. This role will also work with other systems including Item, Vendor, Cost, Purchase Order, Non Stock Ordering, Product Recall, and Vendor EDI.


The key to success in this role is a complement of technical skills, focus on quality, a desire to exceed customer expectations, knowledge of Agile principles, and a drive to learn new technologies.  This role is expected to collaborate with Product Owners, Application Architects, Software Developers, and Quality Control on various enhancements in order to deliver business product solutions.

The JDA Business Analyst will focus on the JDA suite of products, including JDA Demand, Fulfillment, Inventory Optimization, Demand Class, Dynamic Deploy, and Order Optimization.  Works closely with business users to understand the processes and requirements that JDA products solve. When customizations are needed, the JDA Business Analyst translates the processes and requirements into artifacts that are used by application development teams to create and deliver a solution.  Typically engages in projects that are specific to their domain. Monitors the JDA system and configures the application as needed to enable all software features essential to business and ensure it performs at an optimal level.


Essential Functions:

  • Understanding of demand planning and replenishment activities.
  • Approach problems with an awareness of key metrics that must be balanced.
  • Configuring and tuning JDA applications for optimal performance and enabling all required features and processes.
  • Elicit application requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Document and evaluate information gathered from multiple sources to understand user requests and reconcile conflicts between applications to recommend solutions.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with customers (external and internal) to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver artifacts (e.g. Business Requirements, Use Cases, GUI designs, etc.) as needed.
  • Work independently with users to define application concepts and in collaboration with project managers and project team leaders.
  • Drive and challenge business users on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
  • Create functional test cases between various applications of a domain.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing.
  • Serve as a conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
  • Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level.
  • Serve as a liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
  • Able to serve as Subject Matter Expert on 1 or more applications within a portfolio.


Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Five years previous analysis or software development experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Recent experience to include using JDA applications.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current technologies.
  • Strong commitment to software quality.
  • Proven analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid customer focus, teamwork, innovation, creativity, and relationship building.
