As a member of the Supply Chain Procurement and Logistics team you will be part of a talented and experienced group responsible for developing, testing, enhancing, and supporting a suite of world class software solutions. This role will focus on SAP features (Purchase Order, Non-Stock Ordering) and integrated, cloud-based custom solutions that provide Product Recall, Order Fulfillment and EDI capabilities for our business. This role will also work with other package systems including JDA and Oracle Transportation Manager (OTM).

 

The key to success in this role is a focus on quality, technology, innovation, a desire to exceed customer expectations, knowledge of Agile principles, and an ability to manage change. This role is expected to collaborate with Product Owners, Quality Control Engineers, Enterprise Architects, Business Analysts, Software Developers, and Scrum Masters in order to provide the right solutions that brings our customers the most value.


Position Summary:

Provides leadership in the development of software application solutions used by the

business community within their application domain, including solution design,

implementation, and maintenance that is consistent with the defined application

architecture standards. A Lead Application Architect must perform the detailed

responsibilities listed below.

 

What you will do:

  • Help define, shape and communicate application architecture standards across the team’s product portfolio and the broader Gordon Food Service enterprise
  • Design and develop programs according to the specifications and established coding
  • standards, and testing them for accuracy and optimal performance
  • Analyze current business systems, determining the scope and estimates for tasks related enhancements or issues that need to be resolved
  • Analyze software packages as potential solutions
  • Participate in off hours support schedules on a rotation basis
  • Collaborate with other architects to establish technical requirements
  • Create architecture documentation and present for review
  • Collaborate with internal customers to establish technical requirements
  • Perform integrated testing of systems for accuracy, reliability, and optimal performance
  • Perform system software maintenance, support, and requirements analysis
  • Conduct and facilitates formal code reviews

 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years of software development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with custom Java applications
  • Experience in System Analysis and Design
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate consensus building skills and have good problem-solving capabilities
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment
  • Has to be highly motivated toward company, team and individual results as well as demonstrate drive and initiative
