We’re looking to onboard a Payroll Coordinator to perform specialized payroll record keeping, maintenance, review, verification, support, and related work to ensure accurate and efficient processing of payroll functions. See additional detail below!


This position will work 4 days a week, ten hour days rotating Thursday and Friday off each week.  

What will you do?

  • Maintain employee payroll data in Lawson/Ceridian including time accrual balances, status, taxes, wages, address changes, etc.
  • Accurately balance weekly  payroll totals.
  • Respond promptly to payroll related questions and requests via phone, fax and e-mail, including the mainline phone and payroll email box during assigned weeks.
  • Run weekly/biweekly payrolls and review output prior to final payroll run.
  • Review ROE forms when payroll run is complete.
  • Process STD/LTD and worker’s compensation entries weekly.
  • Complete verifications of employment within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Process weekly terminations, severance items, and time accrual payouts. Process time-off requests and process personnel change forms. Process direct deposit forms, contacting employees for necessary follow-up. Process vacation cash ins, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Process GFS Stores Manual Hours and Hours Transfer forms, following up with managers to resolve issues.
  • Track and remit healthcare, flex benefits, and RRSP benefits/payments.
  • Complete payroll tracking spreadsheets.
  • Complete monthly reporting checklist on a rotating basis; creating spreadsheets and routing reports.
  • Interpret and process garnishments, including setup, balancing and communication with agencies and employees.
  • Collaborate with IS/Ceridian to resolve problems or issues that arise. Conduct general maintenance of the time and attendance system to include testing of upgrades and system modifications.
  • Conduct weekly review of time and attendance error reports, collaborates with managers to correct missing or error transactions within the system.


Leading candidates will have…...

  • One to three years previous payroll experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Associates degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills..
  • Detail oriented and accurate.
